i woke before day break, despite my room not having an outside window. sleep didn't come easily. i felt like i was suffocating.

i am so glad i stayed in the shelter. torrential downpours all night and fog so thick that i had to pull out my tent and drape it over my sleeping bag.

it rained much of the night, but shortly before daybreak the rain subsided. i took the opportunity to pack up everything except the tent, giving it time to air out.

slept very well in the budget inn. the beds were flat and dry, what more do i really need? clothes, socks and shoes: dry. weather check via window: very rainy.

a cold night at blue mountain shelter, but i stayed pretty warm by converting my quilt to full bag mode.
