vandeventer shelter to damascus, va

this will be a very short post. we walked 35 miles today. we left vandeventer shelter around 08:00 with the intention of staying at abingdon gap shelter, for a 22 mile day, but the trail was pretty flat and we made good time, and ultimately decided to walk the additional 10 miles into town to get there a day early. the deal was sealed when rocket texted the airbnb and asked if we could get in early, and they confirmed that was fine.

we ended up walking 33 miles to town, and then another 2 in town trying to find food and beer, and getting to the airbnb. it was an epic day. we had some trail magic, and crossed out of TN and into VA.
